“A Warmer Day is inspired by the beautiful beaches found in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. I didn't really have a plan, but as I was painting the sky and the sea, I remembered my time spent at boarding school and the joy & freedom of escaping to the beach with my friends. When I look at this painting, I'm taken back to a time of pure happiness. I can feel the warmth of the sun, the wind & the icy sea.

Many people think that art has to have a deep meaning, and although this can be true, I believe that it's also important to see things simply, to focus on the beauty that surrounds us. Not everything in life has to be complicated.”
