I love sketching. I hardly ever sketch in preparation for a big oil painting but rather whenever I feel inspired and want to create a feeling or catch an idea in the moment. Nothing in this world is really perfect, and that’s what I love about sketching; it doesn’t need to be perfect. It can be messy, it can have mistakes, a sketch is spontaneous and I think it’s these imperfections that make them so beautiful. Sketches are raw, they are real, and that’s kind of perfect.
