“I see roses as such delicate and perfect flowers; however, for Whirlwind Romance, I wanted to be more expressive with them. Roses in romance are such gentle things, the ideal gift, but love is not tame and suffers when it is idealised. I wanted to capture roses in a moment of tempest, to focus on their movement and vibrance, to give them life, even if it was a little messy.”
